Community Partnerships

The Methodist Women are seeking volunteers. We are looking for volunteers who can take turns pulling the His Helping Hands trailer to various locations in Havelock for important outreach opportunities to serve our community. Volunteers must have a vehicle with a trailer hitch and proof of insurance. If you are interested, please contact Nancy Rhodes. Please help us be Jesus’ Hands and Feet for our community.

Prayer Ministry: Sweet Hour of Prayer, Prayer Chain, and Community Prayer Box

  • The Sweet Hour of Prayer group meetings will take a break in June and July.

  • Items of need are canned meat, veggies, fruit, and cereal.
  • Next time you see a “buy one, get one free” item at the grocery store, think about giving the free one to the Blessing Box.

Backpack Blessings of weekend food for school children in need

  • We will unload a trailer of food at the Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m. and another on Wednesday, July 24, at 9:30 a.m. We will distribute the food to families on Wednesday afternoon starting at 4:00 p.m. We can use all the help we can get. Many hands make light work. Thank you for supporting this ministry.

Community Food Pantry

  • The item of need for July is pancake mix.
  • The item of need for August will be instant mashed potatoes.
  • The food pantry needs volunteers. They are open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. They are located at 925 E Main St, Havelock, NC.

Religious Community Services (RCS)

  • We need summer clothes. Our clothing boutique is calling for shorts, t-shirts, dresses, and clothing that will help beat the heat. You can drop off at 503 Guion St. – Building Number #3 Tuesday-Thursday from 10am-2pm or by appointment by calling 252-633-2767 ext #2.

When you go to delivery options please choose Amber Smith RCS, she is our amazing Operations Manger that will be accepting the orders. Christian Crafters  for mission activities support

  • There will be a Wonderful Wednesday Craft Day in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

School Personnel Appreciation Luncheon each Fall

  • This year’s luncheon will be Thursday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. in our Fellowship Hall.

Vacation Bible School for the community

Havelock Pregnancy Resource Center

  • Needs diapers (size 4 and 6), baby wash & lotion, baby thermometers, baby wipes, white noise machines, and high chairs. Items can be donated at the HPRC office (316 Hwy 70 W in Westbrooke Plaza) Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10am to 4pm and Saturdays from 10am to noon.

Coastal Women’s Shelter: Ongoing collection of used cell phones and needed supplies

  • Items of need are women’s hygiene products, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
  • We are excited to announce our Back to School Drive throughout the entire month of July! Join us in supporting students of all ages by donating school supplies. Your contributions will make a meaningful difference in our community.

Craven County Schools

  • Craven County Schools’ Summer Meals Program kicks off Monday, June 10th, and runs through August 16th! Free summer meals for all kids 18 and under all summer long! To find your closest meal site: Text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304 or Visit online at summermeals4NCkids.org.
  • Craven County Schools welcomes individuals looking to make a positive contribution in the life of a child by serving as a mentor. Mentors agree to a 30 minute per week commitment during the school year that takes place at the student’s school. Individuals and businesses can volunteer to mentor students, and many mentors provide academic support and tutoring to their mentees.
  • Volunteers help in the classroom, library, with special events, and anywhere they are needed at all Craven County schools. To get started, contact the school nearest you and offer your services. All volunteers must pass a background check.
