Christmas Cheer
This year, we are partnering with the church George and Deanna Russell attend in the mountains, Bethel UMC, to spread some Christmas blessings.
We will collect gift cards that Western North Carolina residents can use to purchase items they need. Cards can be from a merchant like Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc., used to buy items and have them mailed to them, or Mastercard or Visa that can be used to purchase items at local small businesses that are reopening. Cards can be for any amount. However, if you spend over $50, please break your gift into multiple cards. Any amount will help someone have a blessed Christmas while trying to return their lives to normal. If you get a card that does not show the exact amount, please write the amount on the card.
Placing your gift card in a card or a written note of encouragement would be an extra touch. Please don’t seal the card so those distributing can see the amount and what kind of gift card it is. Please sign the card, “Your friends at First Methodist Church, Havelock, NC.”
The cards can be taken to the church office or placed in offering at the worship service. If you want someone else to purchase cards for you, you can give a check marked for “gift cards,” and someone will do the shopping.
We want to send the cards the first week of December, so please take them to the church office or place them in an offering plate by the first Sunday in December, December 1, 2024.
If you have any questions about this outreach ministry, contact Jackie Attaway.
Thanks in advance for reaching out with Christmas Blessings to others in the name of Christ.
